Something Somatic
A production of a play by Simon Turley based on Prof Anthony Pinching’s clinical experience of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
A first script about CFS - ‘Sleeping Beauties’ - was abandoned, after various readings and presentations at medical conferences, as being too literal/pedagogical. ‘Something Somatic’ addressed issues around the syndrome without ever mentioning its name. It featured Rachel Donovan and Richard Pepper and was directed by Jeff Teare. Rehearsal room video is available on site. Also posted - Mel Scaffold’s evaluation.
